makeup makes me feel powerful and happy. I am Gabriel… but when I get in drag I become a new vessel, GABRIEL. You feel me? When you put on drag, it gives you such confidence. It brings out something in you I can’t explain to you because it is different for everybody. For me, it isn’t about trying to look like a woman; it is about being avant garde and larger than life. I was always into fantasy, but here I can become that fantasy. Drag can be ANYTHING you want it to be. there are no rules (ok maybe some rules).

When I sit down and paint my face, it helps me get through any sadnesses or extremes that I might be feeling or facing because it helps to quiet my nerves.

When I am done. I am energy. I am fierce. I am confidence. I am fantasy.

I am Gabriel.
